Website of Nicholas Johnson Nicholas Johnson is a product of the hills and hollers of south central Kentucky. But the sound he produces is anything except what you would expect from this southerner. This former member of the regionally popular band everyotherthursday takes his distinctively southern and melancholy vocal stylings and focuses on driving acoustic melodies that instantly catch your ear. After playing everywhere from Bowling Green, Ky. to Wyoming to Champaign, Ill. to Louisville, the singer-songwriter has found a home in the Indy music scene. Opening for acts such as Great Scott! and Blaknote, Johnson has steadily garnered recognition for his dynamic live performances. Nicholas Johnson is a young artist on the rise, and with his upcoming debut album set for release this year he will definitely be one to keep your eye on. |

Music has always been a driving force in my life. I have always seen music as a tool for social change. From slave spirituals to hardcore punk, music has always spoken to me. I always like to encourage others to hear what the music is saying to us. "Easy Chair" is simply a song about apathy. I have been influenced by many. Among my influences are Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Grateful Dead, Woody Guthrie, U2, and The Dead Kennedys. In real life I am a middle school Social Studies teacher, father, and husband. |
